Sasha Smith is a dynamic technology strategist dedicated to fostering innovation and talent development in Atlanta. Currently serving in the Office of Technology and Innovation for the City of Atlanta Mayor's Office, she works on building workforce and talent programming and initiatives that position Atlanta as a leading hub for technology and innovation. Her work involves close collaboration with government entities, community partners, institutions of higher education, and others in the Atlanta tech ecosystem to drive impactful programs under Mayor Andre Dickens’ administration.
In 2024, she contributed to the Office of Technology and Innovation which facilitated $19.1 million in investments, including direct company and programmatic funding, and salary inflows to Atlanta residents Additionally, the office engaged 2,373 Atlantans in STEAM, entrepreneurship, and technical training programs, and collaborated with 73 partners to drive these initiatives.
Sasha's previous experience as a technology consultant includes working in e-commerce, human capital, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). She has a proven track record of leveraging technology to solve complex challenges for Fortune 500 companies and has championed employee resource groups (ERGs) and spearheaded DEI initiatives at Cognizant and Avanade.
Her career is built on a strong foundation in social work, nonprofits, and higher education. Sasha holds dual degrees from the University of Connecticut, including a Master’s in Social Work with a focus on Community Organizing and Social Justice. Additionally, she earned an MBA from the University of Maryland, which complements her expertise in community-building with a strategic business perspective.
