HIGH-INVOLVEMENT - Takes Planning & Tech Setup
1. Multi-generational Tech session
Host a multi-generational tech session where youth teach seniors about AI tools while
seniors share wisdom about adapting to technological change.
2. AI Youth Coding Bootcamp
Teach kids or teens how to build a simple AI model using tools like Microsoft MakeCode or
Scratch AI.
3. AI & Robotics Showcase
Bring in AI-powered robots (like Cozmo, Nao, or Spot) for an interactive community event.

Create an AI solutions workshop where community members identify neighborhood
challenges and explore how AI tools might help address them.8. AI education program
Develop a full-day AI education program featuring rotating stations for different aspects of
AI (basics, ethics, practical applications, future implications).MEDIUM-LIFT - Requires Some Planning or Volunteers
1. AI & Art Exhibit
Host an in-person showcase of AI-generated art and let participants create their own using
free AI tools like Deep Dream, DALL·E, or Runway ML. Requires printed AI-generated art,
screens, or tablets for digital displays. Optional: Create a hands-on station for attendees to
experiment with AI art tools.
2. AI scavenger hunt
Conduct an "AI in Your Life" scavenger hunt where participants identify and discuss AI
technologies they encounter in their everyday activities. Participants search for AI-powered
tools in their everyday lives (smart assistants, recommendation algorithms, AI-powered
cameras, etc.). Can be done individually, in teams, or even virtually.
3. AI in the Workplace Panel Discussion
Invite professionals who work in AI, automation, and tech careers to speak about how AI is
shaping jobs. Topics: “How will AI change my industry?” “What skills are needed for AI
careers?”. Requires panelists, a moderator, and a venue (or virtual setup via Zoom/Teams).
4. Hands-on demonstrations of common AI tools
Let participants explore everyday AI-powered tools in a guided, interactive session. Set up
demo stations featuring:
● AI chatbots (ChatGPT, Bard, Bing AI)
● AI voice assistants (Alexa, Siri)
● AI translation tools (Azure AI Translator, DeepL)
Requires basic devices (smartphones, tablets, or computers) and facilitators to guide
interactions.
5. AI ethics debate or discussion series
Host a community discussion or structured debate on AI’s ethical implications in person or
virtually. Possible debate topics:
● "Should AI be used in hiring decisions?"
● "Is facial recognition an invasion of privacy?"
● "Should AI-generated art be considered ‘real’ art?"
It can be a moderated panel, small group discussions, or a formal debate. Requires
facilitators, discussion prompts, and optional guest speakers
6. AI in Social Justice Roundtable
A community-driven conversation in person or virtually that explores how AI intersects with
criminal justice reform, racial equity, environmental activism, and other social justice
issues. Discussion topics could include:
● AI & Bias in Policing & Criminal Justice – Facial recognition bias, predictive policing,
and sentencing algorithms
● AI & Racial Equity – How AI impacts hiring, lending, and healthcare disparities
● AI & Environmental Activism – AI's role in climate change predictions, disaster
response, and pollution tracking
● AI for Community Good – Positive use cases of AI for civic engagement,
accessibility, and economic empowerment
LOW-LIFT - Minimal Setup & No Tech Needed
1. Social Media AI Challenge
Post a prompt encouraging followers to use an AI tool and share results. They can use AI
image generators, chatbot, etc... and post their results with the hashtag #AIDayInTheA
#404Day
2. AI & Ethics Community Conversation
All that’s needed is a discussion space (in-person or online) and prepared prompts. Gather
staff, volunteers, or community members for a discussion on how AI affects everyday life.
Use discussion prompts like:
● "Should AI be used in hiring decisions?"
● "How does AI impact racial and gender bias?"
3. AI Documentary or TED Talk Screening + Discussion
Pick a film, send a link (if virtual), or host a small in-person viewing, then host a community
discussion with pre-made reflection questions. Suggested films:
● “The Social Dilemma”
● “Coded Bias”
● Free TED Talks: “The Era of Blind Faith in AI Must End” (Joy Buolamwini)
4. Host an AI literacy workshop
A community conversation where community members can learn about basic AI concepts
and how AI affects their daily lives through guided discussions and simple demonstrations.
Needs a facilitator can be done virtually, but no advanced tech or guest speakers are
required.
